Pastoral Care and ELSA

Pastoral Care at Courthill

At Courthill we aim to ensure all pupils feel safe, secure and ready to learn when they are in our care. We recognise that not only do we need to meet pupils academic needs we also need to cater for their emotional wellbeing as well in order for them to flourish and achieve academically, socially, physically and emotionally.

If you have any concerns about your child (large or small), whether it is at school or at home, then we are happy to listen and help where we can. It is important to us that we are aware of these issues so we can support you in any way we can.

If we are unable to help directly, we can discuss your concerns with other professionals who may be able to support you such as, the School Nurse, Family Support Workers, Bereavement Counsellors and many more.

As part of our Pastoral Care support we can also offer support via our ELSAs (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) who are trained to help children with any emotional support. Where members of staff feel that a child needs additional support to develop their emotional intelligence or resilience we would discuss this with the parent and may offer them sessions with our ELSA.  If you would like support please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Stanyard, Mrs Worboys, Miss Lane or your child’s class teacher.
