Supporting the Wider Community
At Courthill Infant School, we pride ourselves on being ambassadors for change. We value the rights of every child and will fight for change and insist on making a positive impact. For this reason, we support various charities and organisations over the year. These include:
Children In Need
We celebrate Children in Need by wearing pyjamas or spots in school. Children in Need is a great charity to get involved in, as it helps children across the country who do not have access to their rights.
Comic Relief
We celebrate Red Nose Day by wearing red to mark the occasion. Donating money to Comic Relief means we are able to support children around the world teaching the children about differences and valuing what we have.
Child voice: “I remember In class, we were shown videos about children, similar to ourselves, from around the world who benefit greatly from our donations. We learnt that are donations also help pay for warm, nutritious meals for families in need.”
Harvest
We celebrate Harevest Festival every year by donating food and toiletries to our local Food Bank. We are always humbled by the work that takes place at the food bank and surprised to find out how many people need our help. We learn that the best way to make a difference is, not only to donate, but to pass on our knowledge and make others aware. We are extremely lucky to be getting an education, and we always try to make the most of the opportunities given to us.
Tiny Tail - Julia's House
This year we are supporting a new charity. Julia's House provides support to children who are poorly and their families through imaginable times. The children have learnt to be kind and support each other when they are feeling sad or worried, as that is when we need our friends the most. We have a current donation page available through the link below if you would like to help us raise as much money as we can.

The children have also collectively designed their own 'Tiny Tail' which will be displayed to the public in either Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole. They will also be taking part in a 'sponsored sing' to try and raise as much money as possible.
Courthill's 'Colours of Love' Mermaid Tail
On Wednesday 5th March, the children of Courthill took part in a sponsored sing to raise money for Julia's House. They sang a combined total of more than 120 songs (10 songs per class)! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. We have exceeded our target which is amazing!!
